Abroad101 is an exciting and fast-growing start-up, co-founded by Tufts, MIT, and Harvard graduates. Abroad101 runs the world’s leading study abroad review website and provides study abroad offices with world-class evaluation software. Since its launch with Tufts in August 2008, Abroad101 has partnered with over 200 academic institutions and has developed paid partnerships with foreign universities and American study abroad program providers. Our website traffic and revenue are growing exponentially. We are currently based at the Masschallenge (55 Northern Ave, Boston, MA 02210), where we were a 2010 winner, and we will be moving to an office close to the Park St T Station by the end of May.

What We Are Looking For: 
• Strong programming skills – 2 - 4+ years experience
• Web development experience - 2+ years, preferably using Ruby on Rails
• Experience working with Ruby for 1+ year
• Comfort with HTML, CSS, Javascript, MySQL, and basic Clous sys admin functions
• Attitude that you will run through walls when faced with technical challenges
• An understanding that coding is an art, and a strong desire to improve your craft
• Bonus: Knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3

Support Specialist at dynamic  hardware & web education startup – Acton, MA

Walden Recruiting’s client is a mature startup that owns their market niche and continues it’s steady annual revenue and headcount growth.

The Support Specialist plays a key role in their dynamic and growing Customer Service team.  Among other duties, the successful candidate will provide first line support for customer issues and questions, performing Tier 1 and Tier 2 hardware and software technical support to customers, salesmen and partners for our hardware and software systems.  This includes, but is not limited to, troubleshooting hardware problems, troubleshooting software problems, installing software remotely, advising customers and installation techs in proper software and hardware installation, etc. 

Qualifications:

• At least three years prior experience installing and supporting software systems

• Demonstrated experience in a Customer Support environment

• Basic SQL skills & database, client server, or distributed application experience including experience supporting SQL database applications

• Ability to work with engineering on bug resolution

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Demonstrated ability to learn and work with new technologies

•  High degree of “urgency” regarding task management

• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in oral and written form

• BS Degree preferred

Salary in the $40K - $50K range.
